Pyridine hydrobromide is a compound with the chemical formula C5H6BrN. It can be obtained by reacting pyridine with hydrobromic acid. It reacts with sulfoxide bromide to obtain C6H6N+Br3 − and releases SO2. It reacts with cuprous bromide to obtain (C6H6N) 3 [Cu3Br6].
It can be used as a catalyst in the synthesis of 7-aminodeacetoxycephalosporin acid (7-ADCA).
Due to the strong acid system of the material, pyridine hydrobromide has strict requirements for the acid resistance performance of the equipment during the production process.
Pyridine hydrobromide serves as an intermediate in cephalosporin antibiotics such as cefotaxime, cephalosporin, and ceftazidime (i.e. avant-garde series drugs, such as 7-ADCA (7-aminodeacetoxycephalosporin acid)).
