China’s energy self-sufficiency rate remains above 80%

The reporter learned from the National Energy Administration that in 2024,China’s energy security guarantee capability and green and low-carbon development level will be further consolidated and improved,and the energy self-sufficiency rate will remain above 80%.

According to data,as of the end of 2024,China’s total installed power generation is about 3.32 billion kilowatts,with a power generation of 10 trillion kilowatt hours,a year-on-year increase of 5.7%;The construction of a new power system is accelerating,with a cumulative total of over 60 million kilowatts of new energy storage built.Innovations in new energy storage technologies continue to emerge,and the dispatching and utilization capabilities continue to strengthen;The cumulative construction of charging infrastructure has exceeded 12 million units,and over 95%of highway service areas have charging capacity.
