The Environmental Investigation Agency announced that over 60 countries,including the United States and Canada,joined the global commitment to significantly reduce harmful atmospheric emissions related to air and food cooling at the United Nations Climate Summit(COP28)in Dubai on December 5th.
The message states:”Recognizing that sustainable refrigeration measures will help avoid 78 billion tons of carbon dioxide emissions by 2050,63 countries have joined the Global Climate Commitment,which states that emissions related to refrigeration should be reduced by at least 68%by 2050 compared to 2022 levels,and specific measures should be taken to address refrigerant issues with high potential for global warming.”
