Recently,the National Energy Administration organized a meeting in Beijing to promote the work of vigorously enhancing oil and gas exploration and development in 2024.The meeting revealed that a new batch of large-scale oil and gas fields with billions of tons and billions of cubic meters have been discovered through exploration,showing a good trend of high-level storage increase.
The meeting thoroughly implemented the new energy security strategy of”Four Revolutions and One Cooperation”and deployed requirements to vigorously enhance oil and gas exploration and development.It analyzed the current situation,ensured the completion of the two-year oil and gas production and reserve target tasks after the 14th Five Year Plan,and guaranteed energy security.
The meeting pointed out that the national energy system and oil and gas enterprises will resolutely implement the”Seven Year Action Plan for Vigorously Enhancing Oil and Gas Exploration and Development”,promoting oil and gas reserves and production through planning guidance,investment implementation,institutional reform,green and low-carbon transformation,coordinated services,and other aspects.The crude oil production has increased from 189 million tons to 209 million tons,and the natural gas production has increased from 160.2 billion cubic meters to 232.4 billion cubic meters,with a continuous increase of more than 10 billion cubic meters for seven years.The ability to guarantee oil and gas supply has continued to improve,and the driving force for transformation and development has continued to strengthen,making outstanding contributions to promoting the healthy and stable development of China’s economy and society.
The meeting emphasized the need to accurately grasp the key links in increasing oil and gas reserves and production,solidly carry out top-level design,and focus on the construction of a new energy system and the high-quality development of the oil and gas industry.We need to focus on key basins,increase investment and workload intensity,strengthen scientific and technological research and development efforts,concentrate on three-dimensional exploration,establish large-scale and efficient production,and accelerate the establishment of oil and gas exploration and development bases.Accelerate green transformation and promote oil and gas exploration and development to help achieve the”dual carbon”goal.
